Myopia slowdown with MiYOSMART
Individually crafted to your eyes
Freeform manufacturing cuts each lens surface to your prescription rather than to a standard curve. The design allows for your pupillary distance (the distance between the centres of your pupils), the frame you select and the angle it sits at on your face.
We take these measurements in our Invercargill practice before the order goes to the laboratory. Precise figures produce clearer detail across the lens and steadier vision through the edges, which counts on the road and in the paddock.

THE HOYA RANGE
A Hoya Lens for Every Vision Need
Progressive lenses
Progressive lenses cover reading, screen and distance vision in one lens with no visible line. Hoya freeform designs widen the corridor of clear vision running down the lens, which helps when you move between the ute, the yard and the workshop through the day.
Occupational lenses
Occupational lenses keep close and mid range work in focus for hours at a time. We set them to your own working distances, whether you sit at a computer, work at a bench or read paperwork, and that keeps your head at a comfortable angle.
Sun & polarised lenses
Polarised lenses cut reflected glare from water, wet roads and snow. Southland light shifts quickly through the year, and Hoya builds full ultraviolet protection into the lens material so your eyes stay protected on overcast days as well as bright ones.
Single vision lenses
Single vision lenses correct one viewing distance across the whole lens, for short-sightedness, long-sightedness and astigmatism. Aspheric designs, which flatten the lens profile, keep stronger prescriptions thinner and lighter for all day wear.
Advanced focus lenses
Advanced focus lenses suit people who find reading tiring from their forties onwards. A small boost of power at the base of the lens eases close focus, and most wearers settle in quickly.
Photochromic lenses
Hoya Sensity lenses darken outside and clear indoors as the light changes. One pair handles a Southland day that starts grey and finishes bright, which saves carrying a second set of glasses.

FOR GROWING EYES
Slowing myopia in children with Hoya MiYOSMART
Childhood myopia, or short-sightedness, is becoming more common among New Zealand children. MiYOSMART lenses use D.I.M.S. technology, a ring of small lens segments that prompts the eye to slow its growth, without patches, drops or contact lenses.
MiYOSMART lenses look and feel like normal spectacle lenses. Children wear them to school, to sport and everywhere else, and we review progress at regular appointments here in Invercargill.
